Conor McGregor Doubles Net Worth After Whiskey Company Buyout

UFC superstar Conor McGregor has doubled his net worth after selling the entirety of his Proper No.12. Irish Whiskey shares.

Over the past few months, the superstar’s whiskey business began to undergo many changes. Initially, in 2018 a beverage company by the name of Becle saw potential in Conor McGregor’s business and bought out twenty percent of all Proper No.12. Irish Whiskey shares.

Then, just a few weeks ago, the beverage company exercised its option to acquire a majority stake in McGregor’s whiskey company through Eire Born Spirits (EBS). Upon activating the option to acquire the majority stake in EBS (partnered with McGregor’s whiskey business) Becle now had a controlling interest in the superstar’s company (51%).

Following the business transaction, there was definite speculation as to if Becle, the owner of the popular Jose Quervo Tequilla brand would opt to try to buy the superstar out, and it ended up being true. Despite the selloff, it is unclear if McGregor will remain the face of the business.

Built with the help of his manager Audie Attar, and investor Ken Austin, the three put together a brand of whiskey that excites the masses. With “The Notorious” constantly commenting and retweeting anyone on social media that buys the product, you can bet that type of public relations only bolsters the brand. After all, since Becle is acquiring all of his company shares, the Irish superstar will reportedly double his net worth. Granted, Conor McGregor has already made mountains of wealth, he always strives to be an astute businessman.

In addition to the selloff of his whiskey company, McGregor also enjoys a luxury clothing line from David August. So it’s safe to say the superstar is not short on business ventures even if his fighting career does start to crumble. When all is said and done, after the selling of his shares alongside his manager Attar, the two are poised to earn approximately 156 million USD or £112 million.

Do you think Conor McGregor made the right choice in selling off all of his Proper No.12. Irish Whiskey shares? Let us know below what you think you would do if you were the superstar!
