After the unfortunate news broke that Cain Velasquez suffered an injury and had to pull out of the UFC 180 event in Mexico, UFC officials quickly announced an interim title fight between Mark Hunt and Fabricio Werdum as the new headline attraction.
Things only got worse when the news broke that the planned co-main event between Joe Lauzon and Diego Sanchez was also scratched when Lauzon went down with an injury.
Quick to extend an interesting offer is “The Notorious” one, as Conor McGregor tweeted UFC President Dana White and UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta today offering his services for the UFC 180 fight card.
UFC 178 – The McGregor Show.
UFC 179 – The McGregor Show.
UFC 180 – Just say the word and its done… @lorenzofertitta @danawhite.

Unfortunately, as exciting as the thought is for McGregor to return to action so soon, as UFC 180 is scheduled for November 15, 2014 in Mexico City, recent reports suggest the rising Irish superstar will be fighting Dennis Siver at a UFC Fight Night event in January.
The McGregor-Siver bout is not yet set in stone, as UFC has yet to officially announce the match, however the thought of a McGregor bout at UFC 180 sure seems interesting. It’s not too late to change plans, Dana!
