Conor McGregor Says He’s Headed To Brazil To “Boost Ticket Sales For UFC 179”

The UFC’s Featherweight division has become one of the most exciting in the sport, large-in-part due to one man: “The Notorious” Conor McGregor.

Although it’s a sore subject for many of the veterans of the division who feel that they have earned their right to challenge for the title after the champion is determined when Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes complete their rematch next Saturday night, McGregor is already preparing himself for the next shot.

As everyone knows by now, after his stunning first-round knockout of the highly regarded Dustin Poirier, it was announced by the UFC that the rising Irish superstar would be sitting ringside when Aldo and Mendes settle their issues in Brazil.

“The Notorious” popped up on Twitter once again recently, reminding everyone that while Aldo and Mendes are in the main event at UFC 179 next weekend, he’s the real main event, as he claims he’s going to help “boost ticket sales” for the event.

McGregor tweeted the following:

UFC 179: Aldo vs. Mendes II takes place on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Make sure to visit MMANews.com on that date for the best live results coverage on the web!
