Over a week after he claimed he’d be signing Gina Carano, UFC President Dana White is now backtracking a bit. During the UFC On Fox 12: Lawler vs. Brown post-fight press conference, White was asked about the status of his negotiations with the MMA fighter turned movie star:
“It’s complicated. It’s complicated. I’m very positive about it. I’m still working on it.”
When asked if the negotiations were taking longer than expected due to Carano’s schedule, he replied:
“I’m working on it. That’s all I can say. I don’t know. I’m working on it.”
If all goes well, Carano is expected to fight UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey by the end of the year. She last fought in August 2009, when she suffered a first-round TKO loss to Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino. Here’s video of his response to the Gina Carano question:
