There have been conflicting reports in the MMA world recently regarding rumors that female fighter Felice Herrig, who is one of the participants in the upcoming all-women season of The Ultimate Fighter, was kicked off of the show on the first day of filming.
Dana White commented on the rumors recently, claiming that while no one was technically thrown off of the show, a fight did break out between some of the ladies on the first day of taping.
“Well, I wouldn’t say she almost got thrown off, but a fight broke out the first day,” said White.
The UFC president also talked about his excitement for this season, which will crown the first-ever UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion. “I’m very excited,” said White. “It’s like nothing we’ve ever done before. We have the top 16 women in the world in that weight class and it will crown a champion at the end of the season. It’s different, it’s exciting, it’s new. The women go after it. The first day when they get in there, there’s already been stuff.”
White concluded, “Half of them don’t like each other. It’s going to be a very interesting season.”
As of right now, there is no definite start-date for The Ultimate Fighter 20.
