Dana White: “It Would Be Interesting To See A 100 Percent Healthy Brock Lesnar Compete”

During the latest edition of “UFC Download,” a weekly UFC website chat with company President Dana White, talk of a potential Brock Lesnar return to the Octagon popped up once again.

White admitted that while he and Lesnar still have a good relationship, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion has not brought up the subject of returning to the MMA world.

“I have a great relationship with Brock, we talk all the time,” White said. “I don’t know, we’ll see. If he wants to fight, he knows my number.”

The rumors of a Lesnar return to the UFC have been circulating around the internet since the day he stepped out of the Octagon. Even FOX added fuel to the fire, asking fans if they’d like to see Lesnar back in the UFC in 2015.

Talk of a Lesnar return to the UFC escalated recently when former WWE announcer Jim Ross spoke of the subject.

“It looks to me like he’s gotten back on track,” Ross told Fox Sports on October 6th. “He looks phenomenal strength-wise. He’s just scary looking. He’s more scary looking than he was before he left [WWE the first time]. … I see no reason he couldn’t have the potential to return to the UFC and sell pay-per-views.”

When asked about a healthy Brock Lesnar, who dealt with severe bouts of diverticulitis during his first run in the sport, UFC President Dana White couldn’t help but wonder how a 100-percent healthy Lesnar would fare.

“It’s pretty amazing what he did and accomplished here while having diverticulitis,” White said. “It would be interesting to see a 100 percent healthy Brock Lesnar compete.”

If Lesnar were to entertain the idea of an Octagon return, he certainly wouldn’t have to worry about a shortage of opposition, as Frank Mir recently talked about a potential third fight with the WWE star, and Shane Carwin said he would come out of retirement to fight a “one-dimensional” Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar’s deal with World Wrestling Entertainment is reportedly set to expire after next year’s WrestleMania event, which takes place on March 29, 2015.
