After all of their trash talk in recent weeks, Alistair Overeem and Junior Dos Santos have successfully booked themselves in a fight against each other, and now the trash talk is picking up yet again.
Overeem called out Dos Santos for being “afraid” to sign a contract to fight him, leading to Dos Santos tweeting Dana White, Lorenzo Fertitta and Joe Silva, personally asking them to give him Overeem as his next opponent.
Well, Junior Dos Santos got his wish.
UFC announced on Tuesday that Dos Santos will battle Overeem at UFC On FOX 17 in December.
Following the announcement of the fight, Dos Santos took to Instagram to comment on Overeem and the fight.
“I don’t choose opponents, but I’m not gonna lie — it will feel great to shut this guy up,” wrote Dos Santos. “USADA. Let’s work. I hope he doesn’t fail the drug test this time.”
Headlined by Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone for the UFC Lightweight Championship, UFC On FOX 17 takes place on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
