Floyd Mayweather Jr. appeared on The Steve Harvey Show on Monday night and mostly discussed his defeat of UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor
Mayweather broke Rocky Marciano’s all-time record of 49-0 with a 10th round TKO over Ireland’s McGregor in Las Vegas last month.
Despite his reputation as a cocky and ostentatious operator, Mayweather was softly spoken and humble throughout the interview. Harvey, who had attended the bout, was full of praise for the boxing legend who delighted fans with his appearance.
Among the questions aimed at “Money” was if he had spoken to McGregor following the money-spinning fight, to which he explained that he had not. According to the 40-year-old, the “beef” between both men has ended and there is no need for further dialogue or interaction.
Mayweather is, without doubt, one of the most gifted athletes alive today and should be celebrated as such. Despite criticism of the bout owing to many in the boxing community feeling McGregor was not adequate enough to be considered a challenge, it seems Mayweather is getting the respect his incredible record and talents deserve.
