UFC Sacramento is set to go down on July 13th and four fights has been announced for the card, including the return of former UFC flyweight champion, Nicco Montano.
The promotion announced that Montano will return to the Octagon to take on 10th ranked bantamweight, Sara McMann. The former champ last fought way back in 2017 where she won the belt when she won her season of TUF. She was supposed to fight Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 228 but the bout was scrapped and Montano was stripped of the belt.
Soon thereafter, it was announced that Montano was suspended by USADA. McMann, meanwhile, has lost two in a row to Ketlen Vieira and Marion Reneau.
Also on the card will be an interesting featherweight bout between 14th ranked, Darren Elkins taking on jiu-jitsu ace, Ryan Hall. Elkins is coming off of two losses in a row to Alexander Volkanovski and Ricardo Lamos. Hall, on the other hand, is 7-1 and riding a seven-fight winning streak with wins over the likes of Artem Lobov, Gray Maynard and B.J. Penn.
If that wasn’t enough, ESPN is reporting that Cynthia Calvillo will take on Livinha Souza. Calvillo is coming off of a decision win over Cortney Casey back in February. The 28-year-old Souza is riding a four-fight winning streak with her last win back at UFC Fortaleza over Sarah Frota.
Finally, the promotion also announced a bantamweight bout between Benito Lopez and Martin Day.
