As noted on Tuesday, UFC lead play-by-play announcer Mike Goldberg was pulled from his scheduled duties as the commentator for Sunday’s Minnesota Vikings vs. Buffalo Bills NFL game after going on a profanity-filled tirade against his critics on social media following his debut efforts this past Sunday afternoon.
Since then, Goldberg issued an apology and spoke about being relieved of his NFL commentating duties by FOX.
Now, FOX has chimed in on the situation as well.
Below is an official statement from FOX issued to members of the MMA media regarding Mike Goldberg’s scheduled NFL announcing duties.
“Obviously, Mike let his emotions get the best of him during his Twitter responses on Sunday. He was quick to apologize for this unfortunate and regrettable situation and understands he made a mistake. He offered to not broadcast this Sunday’s game to avoid any further distraction and we agreed.”
