UFC announced plans on Friday for their first ever event in Poland by revealing the headline bout and co-main event for the show, which is scheduled for April 11th.
In what will be a highly anticipated rematch, Mirko Cro Cop, who recently re-signed with the UFC will look to get revenge on the man who derailed his UFC title aspirations in his first run with the promotion by knocking him out with his own trademark high kick, Gabriel Gonzaga.
Cro Cop vs. Gonzaga will headline the event at the Krakow Arena.
In the co-main event, rising Polish UFC fighter Jan Blachowicz will meet the tenth-ranked UFC Light Heavyweight contender, Jimi Manuwa.
“Poland has been on our radar for a long time now,” said David Allen, Senior Vice President and General Manager for UFC in EMEA. “This is a country that celebrates combat sports so we knew that holding an event here would excite the whole country. This event could rival last year’s Dublin event. We expect it to sell-out, without a doubt.”
