A Georges St. Pierre vs. Conor McGregor super fight could happen, according to GSP’s ex-manager Stephane Patry.
GSP hasn’t fought in the Octagon in nearly two years, but lately there’s been a lot of buzz that he could be getting the itch to return. GSP has yet to publicly address the situation, but his head coach Firas Zahabi recently teased that GSP could be making an impact on the MMA world once again in the near future.
According to Patry, a fight against Conor McGregor makes sense and could very well be what lures GSP back into the Octoagon. During a recent appearance on Canada’s Reseau Des Sports, he said:
“Georges St. Pierre said openly that he could easily get down to 155 pounds to fight. and it is a fact that several fighters who fight at 155 pounds are bigger and walk around heavier than St-Pierre. So if McGregor becomes champion of 145 and 155 pounds, and St-Pierre takes the time to get his weight down in a healthy and intelligent way, do you not think that the UFC would not want to put on the biggest fight in its history?”
Conor McGregor challenges UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 197 on Saturday, March 5th.
