UFC Flyweight contender Ian McCall recently had some strong words to say about the Team Alpha Male MMA camp, led by Urijah Faber.
“Uncle Creepy’s” focus was not on “The California Kid,” instead he had some choice words for fellow UFC Flyweight contender Joseph Benavidez.
Team Alpha Male’s Benavidez made a comment in a recent interview stating that McCall would make a terrible champion, a comment that McCall took exception to.
Never shy in speaking his mind, McCall fired back at Benavidez in a recent interview with the folks at BloodyElbow.com.
“I’ve never had a problem with Joe, but apparently, he has something to say,” said McCall. “Team Alpha Male are nice guys, but they come off as the douchiest camp, and I’ve told some of their guys this. They’re the douchebag frat guys of MMA.”
McCall continued, “They walk around flexing with their shirts off, bumping chests and just seem like they would be the guys that would try to bang your girlfriend when your back is turned.”
“Uncle Creepy,” the number three ranked contender in the UFC Flyweight division did give props to one Team Alpha Male member, that being the current UFC Bantamweight Champion T.J. Dillashaw.
“Good for you, you’re the coolest guys in Sacramento,” said McCall. “There’s only one of you that’s ever going to be champion, and that’s T.J. Dillashaw, and they treated him like the red-headed stepchild for a while. Look at him now, though. He’s the man.”
Ian McCall (13-4-1) fights John Lineker (24-7) on the preliminary card for this Saturday’s UFC 183 event, which takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
