Following the news that Demetrious Johnson vs. Chris Cariaso was moved to the main event position at UFC 178 due to Jon Jones’ injury postponing his fight with Daniel Cormier until January, UFC has announced some additional changes to originally planned fight cards.
With Johnson-Cariaso serving as the new main event of the September 27th fight card in Las Vegas, it was announced that the new co-main event at UFC 177 — where the two were originally scheduled to fight — will now be Danny Castillo vs. Tony Ferguson. The UFC 177 main event, however, will still be the rematch for the UFC Bantamweight Championship, as newly crowned champion TJ Dillashaw will defend his title in an immediate rematch against the former champion, Renan Barao.
With that now known, the following is a look at the current lineup for UFC 177, which is scheduled for August 31st in Sacramento, California.
