Johny Hendricks is planning on remaining a welterweight after missing weight for his fight at UFC 192 with Tyron Woodley. He had to pull out of the scheduled fight due to the weight issues.
During the most recent edition of UFC Tonight, Ariel Helwani commented on Hendricks’ future.
“I talked to him, and he said in the next month he’s going to do a mini cut to 170,” said Helwani. “If goes well, he’ll stick at welterweight. He wants to see how his body reacts again.”
After UFC 192, Dana White confirmed that Hendricks is now a middleweight. Hendricks has to cut over twenty pounds to make welterweight.

In the past Hendricks would cut a lot of weight to make 170 with the help of professional nutritionists, but this time he didn’t go that way, which is believed to be the reason why he didn’t make weight for the UFC 192 fight.
