UFC confirm that a press conference scheduled for Friday prior to UFC 210 will feature returning former light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones.
Daniel Cormier and Antony “Rumble” Johnson square off at UFC 210 in Buffalo, New York this Saturday. The significance of the UFC hosting a press conference with Jones prior to the light heavyweight championship may be justified, according to some. It is expected that the promotion will make an announcement on Jones’ return, which speculators believe will be against the winner of “DC” and “Rumble” on Saturday night.
Jon Jones is perhaps the most difficult fighter to pigeon hole across the UFC’s entire catalogue of fighters. A former unbeaten light heavyweight champion graced with an abundance of talent, many see the Rochester, New York-born 29-year-old as perhaps the most gifted MMA fighter of all time. However, his career has been blighted by run-ins with the law and his employer. “Bones” was infamously stripped of the title and suspended indefinitely by the UFC over a hit-and-run traffic incident in 2015. The belt was subsequently won by Cormier following his first bout with Johnson at UFC 187.
Jones’ ban following a USADA violation is up on July 6 this year, and this will be the first time he has engaged with UFC media in almost nine months.

Jon Jones will meet with the press Friday night in Buffalo, per the UFC. Been almost exactly 9 months (pre-200) since he's done that.

With UFC 213 scheduled for July 8 (two days following the lifting of Jones’ suspension), could “Bones” vs. Cormier/Johnson be a realistic target for a headline fight on that card?
