Fans who have been waiting for the return of UFC Featherweight contender “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, are going to have to wait quite a while longer.
It was revealed this week that the number six ranked featherweight contender will be taking two years off to fulfill his mandatory military service requirements.
The Zombie’s manager, Brian Rhee, told MMA Fighting journalist Ariel Helwani the following:
“He feels bad for his fans and thankful to the UFC, Dana and the Ferttitas for letting him be a professional fighter. He’s going to rehab, train and comeback stronger than ever after the end of the 2 years!”
Jung is scheduled to report to military basic training on October 20th.
