UFC Light Heavyweight contender Daniel Cormier,, who trains at San Jose’s American Kickboxing Academy (A.K.A.), reported on this week’s edition of UFC Tonight on FOX Sports 1 that discussions are underway for his A.K.A. teammate Luke Rockhold to possibly fight Lyoto Machida in his next trip to the Octagon.
Cormier noted that the two sides are negotiating for a fight with each other, likely at the UFC On FOX event in Phoenix in December, or the UFC 181 pay-per-view in Las Vegas in December.
Machida is coming off of a loss to UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman in a fight that went to the judges after five hard-fought rounds back at UFC 175 in July. Meanwhile, Rockhold is coming off of an impressive outing against veteran contender Tim Boetsch at UFC 172 in April.
