Mark Hunt, who got the call to step in as a replacement for the UFC 180 main event when Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez went down with an injury, recently spoke about getting the call he has been waiting for all his life.
Hunt has gone from being offered by UFC President Dana White to be paid to sit out his contract instead of fighting, has compiled a 5-1-1 record inside the Octagon in his last seven fights, earning himself a shot at an interim UFC Heavyweight Championship against Fabricio Werdum.
Hunt told MMA Fighting, “Don’t think I [hesitated]. Only challenge is making weight.”
