Conor McGregor continues to break records, as the numbers are in from Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 59 event, which he headlined against Dennis Siver.
The UFN 59 event, which took place from the TD Garden in Boston, Mass., and aired on FOX Sports 1 directly against the NFL’s AFC Championship game on CBS, broke all past records for a UFC event on FS1.
The show averaged 2,751,000 viewers and peaked with 3,162,000 viewers for the McGregor-Siver main event. The previous record for a UFC event on FS1 was for the debut show, which featured Chael Sonnen vs. Mauricio Rua in the main event. That show averaged 1,780,000 viewers and peaked at 2,270,000 viewers for the main event.
The viewership for Sunday’s show was the highest for a UFC event on cable television since a December 5, 2009 Spike TV event that featured Kimbo Slice vs. Houston Alexander.
