NSAC Surprises Vitor Belfort With Random Drug Test In Florida

It looks like the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) is going to make good on its’ promise after all, as UFC Middleweight Vitor Belfort was hit with an unannounced drug test in Florida today.

“The Phenom” was hit with the surprise test while training in Florida, as the NSAC sent collectors to show up unannounced and take both blood and urine samples from Belfort.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Belfort was fully cooperative.

This comes just one week after reports surfaced that claimed the NSAC wasn’t going to be testing Belfort now that the title fight with Weidman was moved to California.

Weidman should be pleased, as the UFC 185-pound champ today spoke out about Belfort not being drug tested yet leading into their UFC 184 showdown in February.

The results of Belfort’s random drug test today should be made available in approximately two weeks, where “The Phenom” is expected to be tested again by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) after he heads to Los Angeles, California to finish up preparations for his UFC 184 title fight with Weidman.

Chris Weidman vs. Vitor Belfort headlines UFC 184 on February 28, 2015 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
