Anthony Pettis and Khabib Nurmagomedov have exchanged a lot of back-and-forth comments through social media and in interviews, particularly while Pettis was UFC Lightweight Champion, so what happened when the two were forced to sit with each other on a bus recently?
Nurmagomedov appeared on MMA Junkie Radio and spoke about sharing a bus ride with his potential future rival — “Showtime” Pettis, however what transpired turned out to be pretty uneventful.
“I sat down on a bus, and he came and sat down next to me – there was no room,” Nurmagomedov said during his appearance on the internet radio program. “He had to sit with me. I asked, ‘When are you coming back?’ He said, ‘Maybe in November or December. When are you coming back?’ I said, ‘I can come back in October and November, but if the UFC says I need to wait to December to fight Pettis, I’ll wait.'”
Nurmagomedov concluded, “He said, ‘We’ll see what happens.’ It wasn’t bad.”
Nurmagomedov’s recent run-in with Nate Diaz, another UFC Lightweight that he has verbally sparred with via social media, did not go as smoothly at all. More on that here and .
