Ronda Rousey’s Mom Details Issues With Coach In Unedited Interview

We’ve seen the original, somewhat out of context clip that LatiNation shot weeks ago of Ronda Rousey’s mom, AnnMaria De Mars, ripping her daughter’s head coach, Edmond Tarverdyan. Then there was another clip that was only up for a few minutes where she said she’d run him over with her car if it was legal. A few days later, she gave a new interview where she elaborated on her issues with Tarverdyan.

Today? We finally get the original full interview with LatiNation, which is embedded at the top of this article. As it pertains to Tarverdyan, it all goes back to this: “The one concern I had for her [going into MMA] was about making a living out of it, and that proved me wrong. The other concern I had for her, is the type of people that are around [the sport]. And that proved to be right to a great extent.” Yes, she doesn’t like Edmond for valid reasons, but she had concerns before she even knew he existed.

Another issue she has with Tarverdyan is that he keeps her daughter tethered to the Glendale Fighting Club too much instead of encouraging her to learn from all of the gyms in the Los Angeles area. “For example, I think it’s terrible that Ronda’s at the same gym so much. It’s terrible! Because when she was young, and one of the reasons she got so good was I took her to lots of places. Because I cared more about her and her success than my name. So I don’t care if anyone gives me credit, I wanted her to do well. There’s an example of somebody who does not have her best interest at heart. Sometimes your best interests align with those people and it’s all good, sometimes they don’t.”

Make sure to watch the whole interview to hear everything about Edmond Tarverdyan in its proper context as well as her thoughts on the pressure of being the champion and more.
