Ronda Rousey is schedule to fight Holly Holm in a women’s bantamweight championship bout at UFC 193 and during a recent episode of UFC 193 Embedded, she explained why she has a love-hate relationship with her opponents.
“This person is trying to piggyback off of all my work I have done my whole life, and they’re trying to steal that from me,” Rousey said. “And in that sense, I’m offended by their presence. I hate them for trying to hurt me, trying to take away something that I care so much about.”
“After I beat them, the joy the haven given me, I love them for it,” Rousey continued. “It’s by the time I walk out of that arena, and I’ve won, and have the belt around my waist, I’m thanking god for that person for coming into my life.”
