Although UFC President Dana White told a great story the put the war Rory MacDonald had with Robbie Lawler at UFC 189 for the UFC Welterweight Championship into perspective, the Canadian contender claims it’s simply not true.
In speaking with the media after MacDonald’s loss to Lawler in what is surely an early leader for 2015 “Fight of the Year,” White claimed MacDonald didn’t even know what year it was when he was talking to doctors.
According to MacDonald, however, that is not the case.
“I knew what year it was,” MacDonald said on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour at MMAFighting.com. “I knew everything that was going on.”
MacDonald continued, “She was just asking me so many damn questions,” MacDonald said. “And I was like just trying to get air and spit out all the blood that was in my throat, so I was just annoyed so I stopped answering her questions.”
“I was not in the mood to talk to the doctor, then,” he said. “I was in my own little world. It’s their job to check on you, that you’re fine, I’m not going to question the doctor, that’s their job.”
