Roy Jones Jr. Willing To Fight Any MMA Star, Picks Silva To Defeat Diaz

During a recent interview, boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. once again spoke about his willingness to compete against mixed-martial-arts fighters.

Regarding the proposed bout with MMA legend Anderson Silva, Jones said he’s disappointed, but pointed out that there’s nothing he can do about it.

“Yes, I’ve been disappointed that the UFC wouldn’t let (Silva) fight, but there’s nothing I can do about it,” said Jones. “He’s under a new contract, and there’s nothing I can do about it.”

Although the fight with Silva doesn’t look like it’s ever going to materialize, Jones doesn’t rule out the possibility of matching up against other recognized names from the sport.

“I don’t care who it is,” said Jones of a potential fight against an MMA star. “Kimbo Slice, Rampage Jackson, I will box them. I’m not the jack of all trades, but I’m the master of one. If anyone wants some of that ‘one’, I’m ready.”

Regarding the upcoming Silva vs. Nick Diaz fight, Jones made it clear he’s going with “The Spider.”

“He’s going to beat Nick Diaz, I think,” said Jones. “Both of them are good punchers, but he’s got a better Muay Thai game, and he’s probably got a better ground game too… But if Nick hits him, we don’t know.”

The Silva vs. Diaz bout headlines UFC 183, which takes place on January 31, 2015 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
