Shogun On Loss To OSP: “I’m Going To Talk To My Team And Think About The Future”

After going down in just 34 seconds to Ovince St. Preux in the main event of UFC Fight Night 56 on Saturday, MMA legend Mauricio “Shogun” Rua says he’s going to have to “think about the future.”

“I worked some of those kicks before, but unfortunately he was happy to land a good punch,” Shogun said of the series of strikes that led to him getting knocked out. “The punch landed clean and that’s when the knockout happened. He was happy to get it. I made a mistake.”

Regarding his future in the sport, Shogun claims he’s going to have to discuss that with his team.

“Losing is always bad,” said Shogun at the UFC Fight Night 56 post-fight press conference. “At this weight class and heavyweight when a punch lands, you feel it. But I’m going to get through this loss and talk to my team and think about the future but defeats always suck.”
