UFC 175, which took place on July 5th and featured a double main event of Chris Weidman vs. Lyoto Machida and Ronda Rousey vs. Alexis Davis, is estimated to have drawn between 500,000 and 545,000 buys on pay-per-view, making it the most successful PPV show thus far this year.
The number is the highest amount of PPV buys the UFC has drawn since their UFC 168 show, which neared the one-million buy mark for the rematch between Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva, which also featured Ronda Rousey.
UFC 175 is expected to remain the most-purchased pay-per-view show of the year until Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier meet for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship at UFC 178 in September. Most expect the Jones-Cormier show, which features a loaded undercard, including the return of Conor McGregor, will be one of the biggest PPV shows of the year.
