The UFC 179 prelims on FOX Sports 1 this past Saturday night drew the second-lowest audience since the promotion moved to FS1.
Headlined by William Macario vs. Neil Magny, the prelim fights for Saturday’s show in Brazil did 536,000 viewers.
UFC faced stiff sports competition on cable for their timeslot this past weekend, as the UFC 179 prelims went head-to-head with a World Series MLB game and two major college football games.
By comparison, the prelims for UFC 178 on September 27th, which featured Dominick Cruz’s return, drew 698,000 viewers. The prelims for UFC 177 on August 30th drew a record-low 436,000 viewers.
