UFC President Dana White announced the UFC 183 post-fight bonuses during the UFC 183 post fight press conference on Saturday night.
The big winner on Saturday night was Thales Leites, who took home not one, but two bonuses for his thrilling performance in his fight with Tim Boetsch, submitting the durable UFC Middleweight contender in the second round of their pay-per-view fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Leites, who suffered quite a few lumps in the eight minutes and 45 seconds it took to force the number 13 ranked UFC Middleweight contender to tap out, pocketed an extra $100,000. He earned a $50,000 bonus for one of the “Performance of the Night” bonuses, as well as $50,000 for the “Fight of the Night” bonus.
In a losing effort, Boetsch also took home an extra $50,000 for being the other half of the “Fight of the Night” contest.
Also earning an additional $50,000 on Saturday night was longtime UFC veteran Thiago Alves. The former UFC Welterweight title contender picked up the other “Performance of the Night” bonus for his thrilling come-from-behind second round TKO victory over the highly regarded Jordan Mein in the opening bout of the UFC 183 pay-per-view.
