At the UFC 191: Johnson vs. Dodson 2 pay-per-view event on Saturday night in Las Vegas, former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski continued his impressive winning streak by taking out fellow UFC heavyweight legend Frank Mir.
Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski defeated Mir, a former UFC heavyweight champion in his own right, by scores of 29-28, 29-28, 30-27 after three rounds.
After the fight, Arlovski, who seemed disappointed in his inability to finish Mir, admitted that he took Mir lightly and welcomed “boo’s” from the fans in attendance. He also mentioned that UFC President Dana White, who was sitting ringside during the event, was probably unimpressed with his performance.
Regardless, with the victory, Arlovski, who was ranked fourth coming into UFC 191, likely moved himself up the rankings and took one step closer to a UFC heavyweight title shot after taking out Mir, the previously number ten ranked UFC heavyweight contender.
UFC 191 took place on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
