Although both fights were considered a given at this point, UFC officially confirmed two major upcoming title fights in the Bantamweight and Light Heavyweight divisions.
In his first defense of his newly won UFC Bantamweight Championship, TJ Dillashaw will put his belt on the line in an immediate rematch against former champion and pound-for-pound notable, Renan Barao. The fight is scheduled to take place on August 30th at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. Tickets for the fight officially go on sale on Friday, July 18th.
In the next UFC Light Heavyweight Championship fight, current title-holder and pound-for-pound king Jon Jones will defend his belt in a rematch against top-ranked challenger Alexander Gustaffson. This fight is scheduled to take place as the main event of UFC 178 in Las Vegas, Nevada. An official venue has yet to be announced, although it will likely emanate from either the Mandalay Bay Events Center or the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Both title fights were confirmed by UFC president Dana White this weekend in Las Vegas.
