Today (Sat. March 16, 2019) UFC London went down from the O2 Arena in London, England. The show was main evented by a tremendous 170-pound contest. Ex-UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till returned to the Octagon. He took on veteran Jorge Masvidal, who made his return after over a year away.
Also, Leon Edwards looked to continue his impressive win streak. He faced jiu-jitsu ace Gunnar Nelson. Light heavyweights Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes also did battle on the main card. Check out MMA News’ UFC London results here below:
Main Card (ESPN+, 4 P.M. ET):
- Welterweight: Darren Till vs. Jorge Masvidal
Round 1:
Masvidal springs out and goes for a kick, but it’s a low blow. The action stops. A big left land drops Masvidal and the Englishman jumps on him. Masvidal gets to his feet and has a kick caught, and Till takes the fight to the ground. Masvidal gets to his feet again. A takedown shot from Masvidal is changed into hook attempts. Till lands a few nice left hands and backs Masvidal against the cage.
More nice shots from Till against the cage. Masvidal lands a nice hook as he jumps forward, and follows it up with two more. Till responds with a nice jab. Masvidal misses with some wilds overhands. The round comes to an end.
Round 2:
Till coming out with the pressure again. Masvidal with a takedown, but Till gets right back to his feet. Nice jab lands for Till again. Another jab sneaks in for Till, but Masvidal responds with a body kick. He’s been landing those kicks a lot more frequently as the fight rolls on. Masvidal catches Till with some nice hooks as he comes forward. Masvidal catches Till with a huge left hand and Till is OUT! Masvidal catches Till a few more times as he goes to the floor, but that’s a wrap.
