UFC has announced that former Manchester City soccer team CEO Garry Cook, who joined the UFC staff two years ago to head up operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, will be moving to Las Vegas to take the new position of UFC’s Chief Global Officer.
Cook’s new position now makes him one of the company’s most powerful executives, as he is now in charge of all of the international territories.
UFC President Dana White, who has sung Cook’s praises many times during recent UFC media scrums, offered the following simple comment regarding Cook’s promotion, “[The] guy is a f—ing stud.”
As a result of Cook’s promotion, former UFC Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Asia, Mark Fischer, has been released from the organization.
