UFC Ottawa Results: Cowboy Bests Iaquinta After Banger

Check out MMA News' UFC Ottawa results, featuring a lightweight main event between Al Iaquinta and Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone.

Earlier tonight (Sat. May 4, 2019) UFC Ottawa went down from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The UFC had compiled a great night of action for fight fans in Ottawa. In the main event of the night, a lightweight fight took place between Al Iaquinta and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

Also, middleweights Derek Brunson and Elias Theodorou met in the co-main event. Cub Swanson took on Shane Burgos at featherweight. Walt Harris made his return at heavyweight against Sergey Spivak as well. Check out MMA News’ UFC Ottawa results here below:

Main Card:

  • Lightweight: Al Iaquinta vs. Donald Cerrone

Round 1:

Leg kick from Iaquinta early. Iaquinta follows up with a kick to the body. Cerrone with a leg kick of his own. A big body kick from Cerrone finds a home. Cerrone lands a nice hook coming inside. Iaquinta gets a nice hook coming inside, but Cerrone fires back with one of his own. A big uppercut and hook connect from Iaquinta. A big head kick lands for Cerrone, but Iaquinta is still standing.

Round 2:

A beautiful counter uppercut lands for Cerrone. Iaquinta responds with a pair of leg kicks. Iaquinta eats a body kick to land an overhand. A nice leg kick for Cerrone lands, and it takes Iaquinta’s leg out from under him. A big body kick from Cerrone. Cerrone with another big leg kick. Iaquinta lands two big shots, but Cerrone isn’t backing away. Another nice counter shot lands for Iaquinta. He lands another that rocks Cowboy. The round comes to an end.

Round 3:

A nice jab lands for Cerrone. A kick to the body lands for Cerrone, and Iaquinta lands a body shot of his own. Another kick to the body from Cerrone. Iaquinta faints a takedown. A hard lead uppercut lands for Cowboy. Iquinta responds with a big overhand right. A big body kick lands for Cerrone, and a leg kick from Iaquinta takes Cowboy’s feet from under him, but he shoots back up.

More leg kicks from Cerrone. A big head kick from Cerrone is just blocked, and he follows up with another. A big jab drops Iaquinta down. Cerrone swarms with ground-and-pound but is saved by the horn.

Round 4:

A front kick to the face lands for Cerrone that drops Iaquinta. Iaquinta is able to get to his feet. A big left hook lands for Iaquinta. A nice uppercut lands for Cerrone, and he follows up with a hard hook. Leg kicks from Cerrone, and he follows up with a head kick. Iaquinta catches a kick from Cerrone but fails for a takedown. The round comes to an end.

Round 5:

An overhand lands for Iaquinta. Cerrone responds with a stiff jab. Iaquinta lands a big right hand off a Cerrone kick. Another front kick to the face lands for Cerrone but Iaquinta stays on his feet. Iaquinta with another big hook, but Cerrone fires back with a beautiful combination. Iaquinta fails on a takedown and lets go to throw a hook. Cerrone smells blood and is coming at Iaquinta with some big shots. The fight comes to an end.
