Although the “major announcement” promised for today’s “UFC: The Time Is Now” press conference never happened, a number of noteworthy items were unveiled.

– Matt Brown vs. Tarec Saffiedine was announced for the Valentine’s Day event in Broomfield, Colorado.
– Two or three events will be held in Mexico in 2015, one of which will take place in Mexico City.
– Cain Velasquez vs. Fabricio Werdum in a UFC Heavyweight title unification bout is expected in Mexico in June.
– There will be three-to-five events held in Canada in 2015, with Montreal, Toronto and Calgary being three of the cities.
– There will be one pay-per-view event in Brazil in 2015.
– UFC President Dana White said he’s “very confident” Georges St-Pierre will make a return to the Octagon.
– Anderson Silva and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will fight — against different opponents — at the end of the next season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, which they will be coaching.
– UFC is currently working on entering the Scotland market.
– Dana White said that while Brock Lesnar is under contract to the WWE right now, the two have a good relationship, he’s healthy now and has told him that “he’s interested in fighting again.”
