Video: Anderson Silva “Surprised” By Positive Drug Tests, Calls For Rematch With Nick Diaz

Following his recent multiple drug test failures for his UFC 183 bout with Nick Diaz, MMA legend Anderson Silva insists to celebrity-gossip website TMZ that he doesn’t know why his tests came up positive.

“I don’t know what happened. I’m surprised,” said Silva in the interview, which you can check out above. “When my manager called me and said ‘Anderson, we have a problem because you go to the test for the commission is bad’. I said, ‘What, I don’t know what happened’.”

When asked if the positive test could be a result of some medication he took for his broken leg, Silva said, “Yeah, but I don’t think so. I need to check all the supplements I use.”

“The Spider,” who will likely be suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC), calls the situation “bad” for himself and the sport of MMA.

“I think this is bad for the sport, it’s so bad for me and my life,” said Silva. “And that does nothing to change my performance in the fight.”

Silva’s unanimous decision victory over Diaz will likely be overturned to a “No Contest” ruling by the NAC, a situation that “The Spider” feels warrants a rematch.

“I respect the commission now,” he said. “When all this is done, I go fight Nick next one.”
