Video: Cormier, Bader Nearly Come To Blows At UFC 187 Post-Fight Presser

Although the UFC 187 card was full of exciting fights on Saturday night, the best fight of the evening nearly came to fruition at the post-fight press conference immediately after the event.

Daniel Cormier, who was celebrating his victory over Anthony Johnson in the main event of the show, a win that earned him the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship, was interrupted by the man he was originally scheduled to fight after losing to Jon Jones in January — Ryan Bader.

Bader went on to “crash” the press conference, leading to an incident where both Cormier and Bader had to be physically restrained.

“This is my press conference,” Cormier said as the situation began to unfold. “Get the f*ck outta here.”

“We’ve got to shift our focus,” Cormier said when asked about defending the title he won on Saturday against the original champion — Jon Jones. “Somebody else needs to get his ass kicked too. I think he’s around here.”

This led to Bader challenging Cormier to basically go at it right then and there.

“I’m going to beat the sh*t out of him next time,” Cormier said. “You keep talking, baby. Keep talking, keep talking. This guy’s so disrespectful, I’m trying to fight Anthony Johnson, and Ryan Bader is writing me stupid messages on Twitter because he thinks he deserves a title shot. C’mon Ryan. You can come and fight me, you can get your ass kicked.”

Bader made the claim that D.C. tried to “duck” him, however it was Cormier who got the last words in as Bader was taken away.

“Not once did I say I don’t want to fight Ryan Bader,” Cormier said. “I just wanted an easy paycheck. I asked to fight you multiple times, b—- I asked to fight you. They said Daniel, what do you want, I said I want the easiest fight in the division, Ryan Bader.”
