Video: Dana White Responds To Anderson Silva: “He Has Been Far From Mistreated”

Dana White addressed the recent comments made by Anderson Silva on Wednesday, as the UFC President appeared as a guest on “Speak For Yourself” on FOX Sports 1 this week.

On Wednesday, the UFC boss gave his take on the Brazilian MMA legend and former longtime UFC Middleweight Champion claiming he has been “very disappointed with the lack of respect” shown by the UFC to both himself and many of his fellow Brazilian fighters during the FS1 program.

For those who missed the original comments made by “The Spider” during an interview with Brazilian media outlet UOL, below is an excerpt from the interview, which is in Portuguese on the UOL website (for the English translated version of the interview, read the following MMANews.com: article: Anderson Silva “Very Disappointed” By UFC’s Treatment Of Brazilian Fighters:

“I haven’t even received a ‘thank you’ from Dana (White), or Lorenzo (Fertitta) after the last fight. Of course, I was the one who wanted to fight, who took the bout, but I know my worth, my importance.

“I was very disappointed with the lack of respect that the UFC has been treating the Brazilian athletes with. I’m an athlete who took the sport to another level. I don’t get, or have got, people’s due respect. This has made me very upset, sad, and disappointed with the UFC.”

In response to those comments, the UFC President, who has consistently referred to “The Spider” as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the history of the sport, stated the following this past Wednesday:

“Let me tell you what, there’s probably some guys that can come out and say they felt like they’ve been mistreated. Anderson Silva is not one of them. Okay? That is a guy who has been far from mistreated. Far from mistreated.”
