Video: McGregor’s Post-Fight Octagon Interview & Dana White Awarding Him Second Title

After dropping Eddie Alvarez several times inside less than two rounds to score an incredibly impressive second round knockout, the current and only simultaneous two weight division champion in UFC history, Conor McGregor, who now technically sits at the very top of both the 145-pound (Featherweight) and 155-pound (Lightweight) divisions after putting on awe-inspiring performances en route to capturing both belts from respected veteran champions, showed his excitement after finally getting his hands on a second shiney, gold UFC World Title inside the Octagon in New York City’s Madison Square Garden arena on Saturday night.

Featured above is video footage released by the UFC via their official YouTube channel which shows McGregor being announced the winner and new UFC Lightweight Champion after scoring a knockout over the now previous champion, Eddie Alvarez, at the 3:04 mark of the second round of their “Champion vs. Champion” main event at the historic first-ever UFC event held in the state of New York, which also made history on a number of levels.

The video also shows the Irish mega-star, who will clearly reach yet another ridiculously high level of fame and superstardom after yet another shockingly impressive performance against what was believed to be another difficult style matchup for “The Notorious” one, talking wiith Joe Rogan for his post-fight Octagon interview.

You’ll see McGregor immediately looking around, and verbally requesting — or demanding — to get his second UFC World Title strapped on him on the spot. Eventually, UFC President Dana White brought in the second title belt, which he revealed after the show that he had to borrow from Tyron Woodley right after he went through a “Fight of the Night” battle with Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson and 24-hours after two face-to-face confrontations between McGregor and Woodley on Friday. From there, the UFC’s most colorful star and potentially soon to be recognized as among the absolute best actual fighters in the history of the game takes a well-earned moment or two to allow himself to soak in the moment he had been promising to experience since first coming into the world’s largest MMA promotion with “some” buzz from his accomplishments on the local Irish MMA circuit, where he also became a two-division World Champion.

Regardless of what you may think of Conor McGregor, a polarizing figure who has either the most loyal fans on planet earth, or the most vocal and passionate detractors, with very few sitting on the fence, you can’t say he doesn’t do exactly what he says. You can’t say he isn’t the real deal. Ladies and gentlemen, “The Notorious” Conor McGregor is clearly as real as it gets. There’s almost no arguing that fact at this point.
