Wanderlei Silva’s Coach: He Doesn’t Want To Fight Anymore

Wanderlei Silva, who is no longer banned from fighting in Nevada, may be officially winding down his career as a competitor in the world of MMA.

Silva’s longtime MMA coach Rafael Cordeiro was recently interviewed by The MMA Hour, and indicated that the former Pride middleweight champ no longer wants to fight. He mentioned Silva is planning to do martial arts seminars around the world with his time off from competition.

“I think he doesn’t wanna fight anymore,” Cordeiro told Ariel Helwani on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour. “I think he wants to stay out for a while, just do seminars all over the world. I think his career is… he doesn’t wanna fight anymore.

“It’s just my opinion. I don’t know the future. But, to be honest with you, when I look Wanderlei now, he wants to spread the word about martial arts. I think that’s what he’s looking for now.”

Silva last fought in March 2013, with a 2nd round knockout victory over Brian Stann.
