Watch Ireland’s Shauna Bannon Recover From Brutal Head Kick To Armbar Opponent At UFC London

As far as comebacks go, Shauna Bannon delivered one of the best in recent memory at Saturday’s UFC London event.

Bannon made the walk during the preliminary card of this weekend’s UFC Fight Night across the pond, staking her claim for a bonus by delivering a crazy highlight inside The O2

It was originally her opponent, India’s Puja Tomar, who lit up England’s capital. After a strong display of striking in round one, Tomar dropped Bannon with a brutal head kick in the second.

But while “The Cyclone” pounced on her stricken foe with ground-and-pound as she pursued a seventh career knockout, she suddenly found herself trapped in an armbar.

After some adjustments, “Mama B” forced the tap from the Indian fighter, completing a remarkable turnaround at UFC London.

The result at UFC London marked Bannon’s second victory on MMA’s biggest stage, coming eight months on from her decision win against Alice Ardelean in Manchester. All three of her UFC fights have come on English soil, with her defeat on debut also taking place in London.

Tomar, meanwhile, has had her Octagon record leveled at 1-1. She previously took home a controversial split decision victory over Rayanne Amanda in Kentucky last June.
