Eleven in court over 53m heist

Eleven people have appeared in court charged in connection with the 53m Securitas heist in Kent in February.

They were charged with offences ranging from kidnap, conspiracy to rob and handling money stolen in Britain's biggest cash raid.

Mr Justice Penry-Davey remanded the four women and seven men to another hearing at the Old Bailey in London on 15 December.

Six of the defendants appeared by video link and nine were remanded in custody.

Car dealer John Fowler, 60, of Chart Hill Road in Staplehurst, Kent, is charged with conspiracy to rob, kidnapping the depot manager, his wife and son, and handling stolen goods.

Warehouse worker Raluca Antonela Millen, of Dudley Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, garage owner Roger Lloyd Coutts, 29, of The Green, Welling, south-east London, and sales assistant Katie Philp, 23, of Hadlow Road, Tonbridge, were charged with conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to kidnap.

Extradition proceedings

Car salesman Stuart Royle, 47, of Allen Street in Maidstone, Kent, unemployed Jetmir Bucpapa, 24, of Hadlow Road, Tonbridge, roofer Lea Rusha, 34, of Lambersart Close, Southborough near Tunbridge Wells, and Ermir Hysenaj, 26, of New Road, Crowborough, East Sussex, were charged with conspiracy to rob.

Hairdresser Kim Shackleton, 38, of Allen Street, Maidstone, has been charged with handling stolen goods, and signwriter Keith Borer, 53, of Hempstead Lane, Maidstone, was accused of handling stolen goods.

Michelle Louise Hogg, 31, of Woolwich, south-east London, also a hairdresser, was charged with conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to kidnap. Both Mr Borer and Ms Hogg are on bail.

Lee Murray, a 26-year-old martial arts expert from Sidcup, south London, who was arrested in Morocco on 25 June, is in custody pending extradition proceedings.
