Uriah Hall has issued a statement following his UFC Vegas 33 defeat at the hands of Sean Strickland.
Hall and Strickland shared the Octagon this past Saturday (July 31). Hall was the number eight-ranked UFC middleweight going into the fight, while Strickland held the number 11 spot. Hall may be bounced out of the top 10 list after being handed a one-sided unanimous decision loss.
Hall took to his Instagram account and admitted that his latest defeat stings.
“Tough one last night. Congratulations to Sean Strickland. I was prepared he was just the better man last night. This one hurts, but I’ll be back. Thank you for all the messages and love. It means more than you know. Oss.”
Hall was riding a four-fight winning streak. During that stretch, he defeated Chris Weidman, Anderson Silva, Antonio Carlos Junior, and Bevon Lewis. Before the defeat to Strickland, Hall hadn’t lost since July 2018.
Hall’s pro MMA record now drops to 17-10. He is 10-8 under the UFC banner. Strickland improves his pro MMA record to 24-3 with a UFC record of 11-3. Strickland will now enter the top 10 UFC middleweight rankings with his win over Hall. Strickland is riding a five-fight winning streak.
