Despite rumors that Jamie Varner will be facing Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at WEC 51 in September, the Varner camp says otherwise.
In a statement issued to the MMAWeekly.com website, Varner's camp denied being offered a fight with Cerrone, and seemed to indicate that their interest right now is in a title shot against WEC lightweight champion Ben Henderson.
The camp plugged an upcoming video blog that Varner will reportedly release in the coming days that will address his injury status following his hard-fought draw with Kamal Shalorus at WEC 49 in June, as well as some kind of update on his next official fight.
The video blog will be released on Varner's official website, JamieVarner.com.
