Bellator Lightweight Champion Will Brooks, who defeated Michael Chandler for a second time at the Bellator 131 event in San Diego, revealed on social media that he suffered an injury during the first round of the bout.
Brooks, who earned a fourth-round TKO over Chandler in the semi-main event of the show on Saturday night, noted on Twitter that he fractured his upper left rib in the first round of their match.
Brooks tweeted the following on Sunday afternoon:
One of the worse feelings in the world is fighting with a rib moving haha. Got X-rays turns out I fractured my upper left rib in the 1st rnd
