Cris Cyborg vs. Cat Zingano Possible For UFC 198 In Brazil

Putting together “rumors” from posts on social media can be dangerous, but also fun in the world of MMA.

Currently, one of those rumors consists of a potential UFC 198 women’s contest between Invicta FC champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino and former UFC title contender Cat Zingano.

The event takes place in Brazil on May 14 and will go down inside a soccer stadium. Fabricio Werdum is set to defend his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic that evening.

Cyborg (15-1) is coming off four consecutive finishes for Invicta FC, including a January knockout of Daria Ibragiomva. However, her attempts to cut to bantamweight have been unsuccessful, leaving her stuck outside the Octagon.

Zingano (9-1) has not fought since an early 2015 defeat to then-UFC champion Ronda Rousey. However, she has been posting on Twitter numerous comments making a return to action seem imminent.

Stay tuned to MMANews.com for the latest news regarding this possible fight.
