Bellator 138 Spike TV Results

Michael Chandler (155.6 lbs.) vs. Derek Campos (152.5 lbs.)

Round 1: From the word “go,” Chandler is in complete domination of this contest. Chandler is landing crisp, straight punches. He rag-dolls him down with a takedown and moments later, Chandler sinks in the rear-naked choke. Chandler just blitzed through Campos and made it look easy.

Michael Chandler def. Derek Campos via Submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:17 of Round 1.

Daniel Straus (144.4 lbs.) vs. Henry Corrales (144.9 lbs.)

Round 1: As soon as the bell sounds to start the opening frame, Straus immediately takes Corrales down. Corrales works his way back to his feet and now they’re stuck against the cage standing. Corrales and Straus trade knees to the thighs of each other until finally Straus takes Corrales back down.

The two pop back up and moments later and Straus, who has Corrales stuck with his back against the cage, is opening up with wild, vicious punch combinations. In a sign of guts and determination, Corrales flurries his way off the cage and we’re back in the center of the cage.

Corrales works some leg kicks as Straus Thai-clinches with him. Corrales fights his way out with just under a minute left in the first round. Both guys are swinging wildly throughout the entire fight, particularly Straus later in the round. Straus scores a takedown with just a few seconds left in the opening frame.

Right before the bell rings, Straus locks in a choke, however it was too little, too late. Good round for Straus. MMANews.com scores the round 10-9 for Daniel Straus.

Round 2: The section round opens up with both guys slowing down a bit, which is not to say that there’s not a lot of action, as at certain points, both guys — particularly Straus — is flurrying with combos in spots. Straus drops Corrales and immediately follows in for the kill.

He pounds away, gets both hooks in as Corrales turns his back. Straus locks in the body triangle now to keep Corrales from turning into the choke. With two minutes remaining, it’s looking like Corrales is either going to go to sleep or escape. Straus modifies the choke to a side-choke (arm-triangle), however Corrales either escapes or Straus gives it up.

Now, Straus has Corrales wedged into the cage. Straus locks in a guillotine choke and this time Corrales is stuck against the cage with his body completely controlled. Straus scores the submission victory here in the second round of what was a fun fight.

Daniel Straus def. Henry Corrales via Submission (guillotine choke) at 3:47 of Round 2.
