UFC 270 went down tonight (Sat. January 22, 2022) from Anaheim, California at the Honda Center and we have the results. The world’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion compiled an excellent card for fight fans to enjoy.
It was headlined by a meeting between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane in a heavyweight title bout.
The co-headliner saw a flyweight title bout between Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo.
Their first fight took place at UFC 256 in December 2020 where they went to a majority draw. Their second fight was the UFC 263 co-main event in June 2021 where Moreno locked in a rear-naked choke for the win to become the new champion.
Michel Pereira vs. André Fialho in a welterweight fight, Cody Stamann vs. Said Nurmagomedov in a bantamweight bout, and Trevin Giles vs. Michael Morales finished out the main card.

Trevin Giles vs. Michael Morales
Giles stunned him right out of the gate then clinched with him up against the fence. Giles took him down and got in half guard. However, Morales got back to his feet. Morales hurt him with some jabs then landed an uppercut that dropped him and finished him on the ground with strikes for the TKO win.
Cody Stamann vs. Said Nurmagomedov
Nurmagomedov was cracking him in the opening minutes of the first round. Cody went for a single leg and they clinched up against the fence. Nurmagomedov got the guillotine choke for the win.
Michel Pereira vs. André Fialho
After a feeling out process to start the first round, Andre started connecting up against the fence. Andre was pushing forward and in his face. Pereira slipped and fell on his back so Andre got on top to dish out punishment before the round was up.
In round 2, Pereira started letting his hands go and Andre had a nasty looking cut above his left eye. He was also bleeding from his nose.
The third round, they continued striking until Andre got kicked in the nuts. They had a wild exchange to end the round.
Brandon Moreno vs. Deiveson Figueiredo
In the first round, they had a clash of heads early on before clinching up against the fence. Moreno started firing head kicks. As Figueiredo went for a kick, Moreno caught him with a cross. Figueiredo took him down and got the back, but Brandon rolled through and to his feet.
In the second round, Figueiredo went for a single leg right out of the gate, but Moreno stuffed it. Figueiredo landed a big straight hand before Moreno checked a kick. Figueiredo went for a takedown and Moreno stuffed it well before going back to his feet. Moreno started cracking him at the end of the round.
The third round saw Figueiredo back him up against the fence and tried to take his back standing, but couldn’t. Figueiredo hurt him with a left hand, but Moreno fired back with a straight right. Moreno stunned him with a left hand. Figueiredo dropped him with a massive right hand then went for a guillotine choke, but the bell sounded. Figueiredo pushed him away after the round.
The fourth round saw them continue to have a close striking match and they added in more kicks. They clinched to end the round before Moreno pushed him to the ground.
The fifth round saw Moreno score a takedown to start off the round, but the challenger got back to his feet. Moreno caught him at the end of the round before they had a wild exchange. Figueiredo got the decision to win the flyweight title.
Francis Ngannou vs. Ciryl Gane
They did some on-off clinching in the opening frame. Gane was landing some knee strikes to the body. Francis was wearing knee pads.
The second frame saw Gane start to increase his output, but did avoid a monstrous uppercut. Gane landed a spinning wheel kick to the head.
The third round saw Francis catch a kick and slammed him down hard right into side control. Francis got his back and rained down some strikes. Gane got to his feet and clinched up against the fence. Francis took him down again, but Gane right back up. Gane landed a spinning back elbow as they separated. By this time, Francis was getting tired. Francis took him down and got on top to end the round.
The fourth round saw Ngannou get a takedown in the middle of it, but Gane once again got back to his feet and then another takedown. Gane did nice job of wrist control, but Francis did get in some shots.
The final round saw Gane get a takedown and was on top in half guard. Gane went for a heel hook, but Ngannou got out. Gane is now tired. Ngannou scrambled and got on top in half guard. Francis was awarded the decision win.
