This morning (Sat. September 15, 2018) the UFC made its debut in Moscow, Russia. Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fans were in for a real treat today. The show was main evented by a heavyweight contest between veterans Mark Hunt and Aleksei Oleinik.
After some nice back-and-forth, Oleinik was finally able to get the fight to the ground and lock in a rear-naked choke. Hunt was forced to tap and Oleinik received yet another submission victory on his record.
Also, in the co-featured bout of the evening, a pair of top-ranked light heavyweights went to war as Jan Blachowicz defeated Nikita Krylov via submission. Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski also returned and was defeated by Shamil Abdurakhimov via decision.

- Heavyweight: Mark Hunt vs. Aleksei Oleinik
Round 1:
Leg kick by Hunt to start the action. Oleinik comes inside with some hooks but just misses. A hook for Oleinik lands but Hunt circles out. A big right-hand lands for Hunt, but Oleinik is still standing and looks unphased. Another leg kick from Hunt and Oleinik’s leg is bothering him. Oleinik with a failed takedown attempt and he eats another big leg kick.
A hook for Oleinik lands in the pocket, another lands that momentarily drops Hunt to his knees but he shoots back up. Hunt nearly taken down, he gets to his feet, but Oleinik finally gets the takedown and immediately takes the back. After some work, Oleinik locks in the rear-naked choke and forces Hunt to tap out.
